photoshoot for sandra and goodbyes to dustin and shelina

first, i want to say merry christmas, happy hanukkah, happy kwanzaa, feliz navidad, whatever holiday you celebrate. i hope your holidays are joyful and fun and full of love, faith and hope. now, onto my story.

i stayed at sandra's house for five days while aunt shawnna took shelina to colorado. we have some pretty adorable pictures of me and dustin from the day before they left. oh, please excuse dustin's partial nudity and silly bra wearing pictures. they were just too cute to pass up.

sandra wanted a photoshoot done, so i took liberty in taking the pics. i think they all came out really good, but the last one is amazing. i'm in love with it.

color splash creations

i came across an amazing photographer's blog. her name is karen and she runs shine photography. well, i love the pictures she takes, especially of the babies. so, i decided to save them and then crop, gray scale, and enhance the contrast. both pictures are credited to karen from shine photography, edits by me. you can find her blog under my blog list on the right so check it out.

brandi's birthday

my little sister's birthday is on the 6th of this month so i made a card for her using gimp 2.6 and it's pretty plain but i think it's okay. i'll be posting some pictures that i modified as soon as i post this one, so tell me what you think and keep your eyes open!

holiday cards and computer obsessed kids

i'm designing our christmas cards this year. i think the front turned out really good. the inside is a big cluttered so i'm going to clean them up, but here's the front.

the kids love the computers. these pictures are proof that they spend most of their time in front of one... they were taken in the morning, afternoon, and just before bed. notice how any of them hardly ever moved?

movies, baking, and great hair

i went to the movies with mom, lexie, and aunt missy yesterday. we went to see new moon and let me tell you it was AMAZING but the ending really sucked. my favorite part is when alice gets all worried about bella. it was hilarious. at the ending after "marry me" and then it just went black, i literally said "are you fuckin kidding me?!" lol. aunt missy cracked up so hard. anyways, a funny story. after the movie, mom, lexie and i went to michaels (who we saw lexie's teacher and my cousin mat at) and then coldstones for ice cream (if anyone cares, i had cookie batter with twix, lexie had cookie batter with chocolate chips, and mom had brownie fudge). then we went to wal-mart and ran into aunt missy and debby, lol. aunt missy and i both said at the same time "didn't i just get rid of you?" it was pretty darn funny.

over last weekend, willow baked some pies with mom. she did such a good job, i just HAD to get some pictures of all of her hard work, flour coated and all. she had to pose with her baby and her cupcake baking men (that's what she calls them).

i LOVED how my hair turned out so i HAD to do a 'self-photoshoot'. i just clipped my bangs to one side with a little clip. i love how the pics came out. there are more, but these five are the best.

gay pride in question

this started out as a simple facebook status. it's my own status, but it really reached out to me, so i thought i'd make a blog post about it to get other peoples' opinions.

so i was thinking about something. and i know a lot of people might not like my opinion. but i was thinking about that whole gay marriage thing being against the law. which is completely stupid and ridiculous. but why does everyone care so much about it? i figure that most gay (and lesbian) couples don't have as many problems as opposite sex couples. you know, because they understand each other. cuz they go through the same thing most of the time. and i realize how most people that say gay marriage or gay couples in general is wrong and that most people that think this are Christian or superreligious. but, answer me one simple question: if God really loves ALL of his children, then he won't care what their sexual orientation is. if it's true that he loves us all, then why is it such a shame to the Christian community that gays are together? doesn't make sense to me.

tehachapi and birthday fun

after lexie's party (i didn't get pics, i feel like a horrible cousin) i went to aunt shawnna's house to spend the night with sandra. the next day we went to church (look up ron vietti, he's the funniest pastor ever) and then went to tehachapi to our uncle jamie's house for an early thanksgiving dinner. i met uncle jamie's wife cheryl, who is very nice, but she was under a lot of stress that day so she was the slightest bit moody. i also met cheryl's eight-year-old son bradley. he's adorable, but he can be pretty annoying. it's all good though because i got a video of him running into cheryl's car. oh, ashlynn was with us too; she's uncle jamie's daughter from his previous marriage to my aunt tonia. anyways, sandra took most of these beautiful photos so enjoy!

i actually took this one. it came out great.

sandra and ashlynn, on the way up to tehachapi.

two days ago, my birthday barbeque took place. i was hoping that my childhood best friend would have been able to come, but her sister had to work so they couldn't make it. that's fine, though because two of my aunts and two of my cousins didn't make it either. i had a good time. i got some pajamas, a cute jean jacket, and a lone pair of pajama pants from my mother. i also got a ds game called my baby girl first steps from my grandparents. i picked out those presents. from my aunt kari, i got ten dollars and a card. she told me she knew it wasn't much, but she didn't have much more to spare. i really didn't even need the money; a simple card would have done it. it's the thought that counts. my aunt judy and uncle dwight got be a rose printed journal with a matching photo album. i haven't used them yet, but plan to. there were a ton more people that showed up but that's all for the presents. i was surprised, but i honestly didn't mind it because it really is just the thought that counts. i'm just happy they came. it was the biggest party i've had since i was about eight years old.

these two cuties are the twinsies. the redhead is joey, the blonde is joshy. they're adorable.

pretty pics!

my new phone (lg ks360) takes pretty good pics. they come out amazingly clear for a phone. i love the black and white contrast, the pics always look so good. these are three pics that i took of my cousins ashlynn and sandra. the first one is ashlynn. she, of course, didn't want her picture taken, but i snapped her instead and it came out really good. sandra always takes beautiful pictures. my favorite is the first one of her.

sadness...

today's the day... they're gone. i still haven't cried yet but i'm sure i will eventually because i can't be strong forever. i got my new phone today, too. it's pretty, i love it. i've been listening to its FM radio all day and it's pretty much my new best friend. sorry sam, you've been replaced my a materialistic object but you know i love you! the best songs i've heard so far are lovedrunk by boys like girls, paparazzi by lady gaga and some song about fireflies... idk what it's called otherwise i'd let you know! the most catchy of the three is definitely lovedrunk. did you know ashley tisdale plays the girl that breaks everyone's hearts and goes with the ultra nerd in the video? i did. cuz i'm majorly obsessed with her. anyways, my mom just got done dying my hair so i gotta sit and deal with a stinging, burning, sizzling scalp until my 20 plus minutes are up... by the way... i miss this little guy.

going home

remember those people that are living with me? yeah, those things that took advantage of my family. they're moving back to kansas. i'm totally happy about it because i sick and tired of all the stupid fighting. i guess it's not that bad, because they're both backstabbing losers. my sister picks the dumbest things to fight with me about and neither of them appreciate anything. the only thing i'll really miss and cry about is this little guy.

pictures

i just got home from aunt dana's! i couldn't get hunter to take a picture by himself because he was being a brat, but i managed this picture with all three of the polings with the fake witch. willow was SUPPOSED to be a goddess fairy but she decided she wanted to be a princess instead, so we took the wings off and took her wand. lexie is obviously a bride. i told her a corpse bride or a gothic bride (like teagan was) would have been cooler. hunter was dan from bakugan (so was jaden) and fatty mcfatfat was superman. they all look super cute!

happy halloween!

the title speaks for itself! tonight is the night all the zombies, ghouls, ghosts, and the cast of michael jackson's 'thriller' come out for a night of terrorizing fun! now, i don't know about you but isn't halloween supposed to be... scary? why all the cute costumes? whatever happened to the traditional warlock, witch, pumpkin head, troll, zombie, scream guy, ax in the forehead, eyeball falling out, snake growing from the neck kind of thing? honestly, people that come to the door dressed like that scare me to death, but its all fun and games isn't it? i remember when i was seven years old i saw three girls dressed up as the sanderson sisters from the best halloween movie ever, 'hocus pocus' and i went nuts and said "cover your ears!" lol. i'll be handing out candy tonight, not dressing up. i am going to a party in a little bit though. i'll post some pics of the kiddos costumes later on tonight. what are you dressing up as?

safe return

lindsey is home! she has a chest cold and doesn't feel too good but she's home and safe and she's alright other than that cold. thank you so much to who kept an eye out, it was very appreciated and thank you to all of those who prayed for her safe return. we're so glad she came back home and her parents are very relieved.

other than lindsey coming home, i also made some text bars on movie titles and their taglines so let me know what you think!
